It is with profound sadness that the Board of Directors announce that Ian Mclean, a Non-Executive Director of the Company, passed away this week following a short illness.
The Board, management and all employees are deeply saddened by his passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Lesley and all his family and friends to which we extend our deepest sympathies.
Ian was part of the broking team which originally helped Northern Bear to obtain its listing on AIM and subsequently joined the Board in November 2008. Ian helped to guide the Group through difficult circumstances following his appointment, including a severe recession and a major restructuring process, and his continued involvement and support have proved invaluable in recent years.
Everyone who knew Ian were privileged to call him a friend, he was a true gentleman and he left us all the better for having known him. We will all miss him very much and no doubt he will be somewhere enjoying some wonderful salmon fishing on a beautiful river once again.
