One of Northern Bear PLC’s long-standing group companies, Jennings Roofing Ltd, is delivering roofing excellence by recently completing a significant re-roofing project at Bowling Park Primary School in Bradford. Acting as principal contractor on behalf of Bradford Metropolitan Council, the project showcased Jennings’ capability in handling complex heritage roofing work while ensuring minimal disruption to an operational school environment.
A Project with Heritage and Complexity
The project involved the complete re-roofing of the school, covering approximately 2,500m². Jennings Roofing carried out the works using reclaimed Burlington slate, known for its durability and historical authenticity, ideal for a school with architectural character. Additional sections of the school required flat roofing works, adding further technical variety to the scheme.
Works were delivered in phases, with activity scheduled both during school holidays and term time. Jennings worked closely with both Bradford Council and the school itself to ensure effective coordination and smooth delivery across all stages of the programme.

This scheme is one of several active contracts Jennings holds with Bradford Council. The slating work was delivered to an exceptional standard, thanks to the experience of the Jennings team, some of whom have been with the company for over 30 years.
Additional delivery partners included SLK Scaffolding Ltd, who provided scaffolding access to ensure safe and efficient working conditions on-site. Despite the often challenging weather conditions and intricate detail requirements, the project was completed successfully, safely, and to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
