Warehouses Galore!

Northern Bear Building Services has refurbished five warehouses in the last six months and is due to complete two more soon.

Managing Director Neil Jukes said: “A warehouse refurbishment might be the last thing on your mind in today’s competitive world but it can bring numerous operational benefits. Here at Northern Bear we have been striving to complete many warehouses of various sizes for different customers to allow the units to be put into production to tight timescales.”

The works at Unit 4 A&B New York Industrial Estate consisted of the demolition and removal of existing staircases and office walls, as well as soft stripping the office spaces. We then introduced a new lighting and heating system and as the building was originally two separate units, we re-introduced the new blockwork to infill the opening between the two units.

We allowed for new kitchens to both units as well as full decoration internally and externally. We have applied a liquid material to the roof to obtain a fifteen year guarantee and completed the refurbishment with new carpets, vinyl and epoxy flooring.

At Unit 38 South Nelson Industrial Estate, the works consisted of the demolition and removal of the existing mezzanine floor, existing racking system and trade office, as well as soft stripping the other office spaces. We introduced a new lighting system and upgraded the existing heating system with a new boiler.

Decoration was completed both internally and externally along with the same liquid material applied to the roof area as with Unit 4 above. The refurbishment was again completed with new carpets, vinyl and epoxy flooring.
